- I have filipino roots... dude, don't take up kung fu... my advice for you is to take up mma, if not either of these 3: bjj, muay thai, shoot wrestling... I think there are many schools in the phil right now that teaches these.... kabayan (comrade)... lol... sorry I'm not used to it...
- there is a well established King fu school in the Malate, Metro Manila. Here is thier site: http://www.hungfutph.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 I can't say how good they are but they have been around for a while and for a martial art to survive in this country says allot (most of the martial artis in the philippines tested their skills with real matches in the olden days). You can start from there and see/ judge your self if they are good. Through their school you might find other practitioners and masters who or even be better than them.
- There are some great schools in China Town in Manila. You will find Fukien White Crane Fist and Five Ancestor Fist. These are two powerful and rare arts. Take advantage while there are still high level practitioners available at your disposal. I suggest you find Master Alex Lim Co, of the Beng Kiam Five Ancestor Fist. He is an awesome teacher with direct lineage.
