lndonesian martial arts is superior to Japanese martial arts.?
When Kublai Khan's army invaded Japan. The Japanese martial artist (using their inbred fighting system) lost! [but they were spared because of that damn storm] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kublai_Khan#Invasions_of_Japan But when Kublai Kan's army met the Indonesians, the invaders lost. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singhasari This proves that Indonesian fighting arts is superior to Japanese fighting arts.

- how does this prove it? havbe they fought EVERY SINGLE JAPANESE FIGHTER IN THE WORLD??? i dont think so this just proves that japanese arts werent at there prime plus they had weapons idiot it wasnt full on hand to hand combat i fail to see any proof other than "they beat them once" whats your question anyway retard?
- You can't really say, it's not like Indonesia invaded Japan, maybe the Japanese martial art were so strong in some places they decided to avoid invading them so they sailed around too much until they all sank Im actually a fan of Escrima and I recon Indonesian fighters are very strong today because of the environment they grow up in, their art is very focused on knife fighting however and not bare hand
- That does not prove that Indonesian Martial arts is superior. Kublai Khan's army had arrows, and gun powder grenades. They didn't have any martial arts, they had superior technology over the Japanese. Japan was behind in technologies because of years of seclusion yet they had an organized army to confront the invasion. Indonesia on the other hand was made up of bunch of villagers and had guerilla warfare on their hand. The mongol army which was used to conflicts with huge armies, weren't ready for jungle warfare. That's why they lost. Not because one had superior martial arts than the other. His invasion of Myanmar and Vietnam failed too. So if you stick to your logic, you have to decide between, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Indonesian martial arts and figure out which one is really superior.
- There isn't such a thing as a singularly superior martial art. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses. I'd certainly put many of the empty hand systems above the Filipino arts (panatukan, panajakman, dumog) but this doesn't detract from their value or effectiveness, it simply relates to the diversity of training. Escrima/kali is a superb martial art as are the ones previously mentioned but you cannot put full responsibility for a nations ability to resist invasion purely on to martial arts and then expect the equation to stand. Martial arts and war are entirely different. You can give a superbly trained army (fighting on their own home territory) poor weapons and let them face a poorly trained army on alien territory and success is likely to be to the home team.
- When performed correctly, No one Martial art is better than another. Listen buddy, most martial arts have a lot of the same moves. Some concentrate on one specific aspect of fighting where others concentrate on another. To tell you the truth, there is only so many ways to skin a cat.
- actually the indonesians used political deception and tactics to drive the invaders out. The indonesian kingdom that was meant to side with kublai abandoned them in the end. They faught, but barely. If you know anything about indonesian history, the fighters were armed with spears/short swords, rattan or timber shields with very little armour , a helmet and breast plate at best. In no way would they have matched kublais armies.
- Alot of indonesian MA was deisigned to counter japanise styles but japaise MA has evoled since the time of Khan.... its a tuf call
