This might be odd, but I wondered if anyone has seached for independent martial art teaches in China?

I mean off the beaten path...like those who would not have a website, ones that I would have to go and find myself. Looking for tradition in pleading a teacher to take on a student. Anyone else tried/interested in this/done any research in this area? I'm interested, whatever anyone might have. Thanks for the answers. But I'm looking more towards physically going to China and physically studying under a Chinese master. Thank you surely though.

  1. Bruce Lee. He showed the secrets, why do you think they killed him and his son too?
  2. Such an easy question. I found a book about 4 years ago, The Way of Energy, Mastering the Chinese Art of Internal Strength with Chi Kung Exercise, by Master Lam Kam Chuen. It is fantastic. It works. Master Lam has brought to America the teachings of Professor (A title of esteem in China) Yu Yong Nian. This is the practice of Zhan Zhuang. This is something I now do every day, without fail. It makes a difference. You can begin the practice, and inside when you feel the need, you will then seek more.
  3. You will probably need to learn to speak an obscure chinese dialect first as barely 50% of the population of China speaks mandarin, especially the older people. Good places to start would be Yangshuo or Dali, both of which have schools that accept foreigners and this would help you to make some contacts. Email me if I can help some more as I live in China. My own recommendation would be to go to Iga Ueno in Japan and study Ninjutsu under Hatsumi.
