Where did Martial Arts orginate from Japan or China?

- Neither, Kung fu and Karate started in India and travelled as Buddhism spread from India.

- The term itself needs clarifying as most cultures have some form of "self defense" style that could be claimed as martial arts. Then you have travel which could influence an exisiting style which evolves into a new one. So, the answer is both and neither depending on your definition.
- Martial Arts is from China. But, people who moved from china to different places such as Korea and Japan altered it to make it their own style. Thats why we have Judo and like Tae Kwon Do.
