- Shotokan Karate has made me a better person. www.ska.org
- Depends on what you want... If you want to be able to fight like in the streets to protect yourself, take Jujitsu. If you want to have a flashy martial art while maintaining health, take Gung Fu. If you wish to promote soley health and logetivity, Tai ji Quan.
- muey thai is amazing. so is brizillian jiu jitsu. what i would do in your situation is take muay thai. look in the phonebook for martial arts places. if you live in a small city, it might be harder, in that case i would do jiu jitsu. you could probably find a good jiu jitsu place. Brazillian jiu jitsu is almost required in the MMA now, do to the fact it renders someone who doesnt know it almost useless if they get taken off their feet. it was created for smaller people to take out bigger people (or bigger people to REALLY take out biggerpeople). great start if you want to continue learning. do more than one if you want to be a decent fighter.
- If you are looking to take a Martial Art: Any will do. Just find a good school. If you are looking for self-defense: A. Any Martial Art can do well if you mold well with it, and you are against an untrained opponent. B. If they are trained, try to mix grappling and striking elements. C. Try to avoid the fight if you can. Good luck.
- If you are looking for muay thai, find a muay thai school. If you're just looking for martial arts, then check out the schools. Look into credentials also - especially if you want to learn self-defense. There are McDojos out there being taught by people who have very little or no actual training (think "Rex-Kwan-Do"....). They are in it only for the money.
- They are promoting what they have to offer. If you want to find a muay thai school, I suggest the internet. You can find the locations of many muay thai schools on the net.
- Try this website to locate a legitimate Muay Thai school near you. www.thaiboxing.com
